SUMMARY

Thousands of years in the future the Golden Record, aboard the Voyager 1 spacecraft launched from Earth in the year 1977, finds purchase on the doorstep of a nascent civilization.

This is a story about what happened after we got a message back from a species nearly identical to us.

For more than a thousand years, across the cosmos, through long-range radio transmissions, the two civilizations shared: art, music and technology. Through this exploration they discovered the miraculous similarities between one another. Forming a bond so strong that the two societies, governmental systems and religion became intertwined. Remarkably, to the eye, there was no discernible difference between the two species.

Without warning the transmissions from Earth ceased. 70 years later, Ahkam received a distress message sent from deep space, stating that everything went wrong and the Earthlings were already on their way.  Ahkam had just over 100 years to prepare for their arrival. The series begins at this pivotal time of the “Arrival”, and no one is prepared for what is to come.

"ANOTHER BLUE" is a gripping dramatic graphic novel saga that takes place on the distant planet AHKAM, a world rich in history, culture, complexity and home to a species nearly identical to humans and visually indistinguishable. After escaping from their own dying planet Earth, humanity is forced to take a leap of faith and look to an alien civilization to give them what Earth could no longer provide, a home. The saga navigates the challenging terrain of first contact, mistrust, political intrigue, and personal struggle, all while maintaining a focus on the real, relatable experiences of its characters.

The “ANOTHER BLUE” graphic saga will span 7 volumes, each containing 6–8 books, offering a deep exploration of this expansive world.

“ANOTHER BLUE” is first and foremost a drama. It is about real people, experiencing a profound moment in time. It is not an about futuristic technology or strange alien creatures. It is a means to explore the society in which we live from a distance, allowing us the ability to delve deep into social and political issues pertinent to our time.

Volume 1 cleverly disguises AHKAM as Earth, leading the audience to empathize with the AHKAM natives as they deal with the sudden arrival of the Earthlings. This narrative device serves to flip the traditional alien invasion trope on its head, providing a fresh perspective and encouraging readers to question their own beliefs and prejudices.

The saga delves into social and political issues relevant to our times, using the backdrop of AHKAM to provide a distanced, yet intensely personal view of these challenges. Through its complex characters and intricate plot lines, "ANOTHER BLUE" explores themes of identity, power, love, and fear, ultimately arguing that love, in all its unexplored and mystical dimensions, is the force capable of transcending boundaries and bringing disparate civilizations together.

The growing unease in Volume 1 hints at a coming revolt, or worse, a full blown revolution as we follow our characters. Dr. Seline Silvers navigates the complexity of the political world she is thrown into.  Rayn Waters, badly injured after the crash, is now living secretly among Ahkamians, despaired to find answers and his children. General Shutlan and President Calum attempt to find a common ground after the shuttle’s explosion, but their growing differences make a solution difficult to find. The Waters family, Brahma and the two children, now separated, struggle to make the Planet Ahkam their new home.

The revelation in Book 7 acts as a turning point, shifting the audience’s perspective and challenging them to confront their own fears and biases. It is a moment of profound realization, as the Earthlings, once seen as the victims and the ones being invaded, are revealed to be the ones who have surrendered their freedoms to survive on another blue planet.

Volume 2, titled “History Lessons,” delves into the backstories of several leading characters, with each book spotlighting one protagonist and their unique journey. These stories explore the time leading up to the “arrival” on Ahkam and the final days of Earth, weaving together five distinct narrative arcs. As the threads converge, the story seamlessly picks up from where Volume 1 left off. The volume reaches its climax with the star-crossed lovers, Rayn Waters and Seline Silvers, who, despite coming from different planets, defy biological limitations to give birth to twins—a boy and a girl. This unprecedented event unlocks revolutionary abilities in the twins, setting the stage to reshape the course of their society forever.

This graphic saga, created by Brian Thomas Wilson and Greg Wilson, has been developed methodically to the end of Volume 1, with a clear vision and a comprehensive roadmap for the next 6 Volumes.
